The fifth Asian Tyre and Rubber Conference (ATRC2019) will have expert speakers presenting tyre industry scenarios in the world’s top tyre producing country, Japan, and one of the biggest tyre consuming markets in the world, India. The second Technical Session on Day 1 (June 20) is on ‘Future trends for the Automotive & Tyre Industry.’ It will have as its first speaker Rajeev Budhraja, Director General, Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA). He will present the paper on ‘Indian Automotive & Tyre Sectors: Gearing up for the Future Challenges,’ in which he will talk about the dynamic changes happening in the industry in India.

There is also Kurata Kenji, Executive Director, Japan Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (JATMA), speaking on ‘The overview of the Japanese tyre industry and how the companies are embracing new technology.” Home to some of the world’s biggest tyre companies, Japan will be of keen interest to conference delegates.

The session will be chaired by Vijay K Misra, Technical Director, JK Tyre, India. The third speaker for the session will be Jos Uijlenbroek, Vice President, Fern RFID Solutions BV on ‘RFID as an enabler for Smart Manufacturing Industry 4.0 digital tire factories’.

ATRC 2019 will also focus on ‘Advances in vehicle performance’ in the second session on Day 2 – June 21. Ajay Sevekari, Director-Quality Management Systems, Bridgestone India Pvt.Ltd will be the Chairman of this highly interesting session. Dr Grinspan, Head Advanced Vehicle Systems Technology & Vijaykumar, Head suspensions and Steering, Ashok Leyland will be the first speakers for the session on ‘The Challenges in Designing Suspension to optimise tyre life and overall vehicle dynamics’. It will be followed by the presentation by Oscar Comajuan, Project Engineer for Indoor testing and Laboratory manager for Rolling Resistance, IDIADA on the topic ‘The contribution of tyre rolling resistance on vehicle emissions and fuel consumption regulations WLTP, CO2mpas, Vecto’. The last speaker for the session will be Juban Thomas, Vice President, Global Testing & Vehicle Dynamics, Ceat Ltd. He will deliberate on ‘Emerging Global Trends in Testing Technology and Our Preparedness’.
